MOR HALPERIN
MULTI-DISCIPLINARY ARTIST
Mor Halperin is a multidisciplinary artist based in Helsinki, born and raised in Israel.
Classic (Frame by Frame) Animation, Visual art and Illustration are Mor’s primary practices using both digital and traditional artforms. In her creative work, she explores themes which invoke curiosity and self-exploration, using colorful imagined scenes, botanical and nature-inspired worlds, with naive and loose art-style. Through a deeper glance using symbolism, color psychology and composition, Mor’s passion in art is to promote well-being, compassion and creativity.
HELENA HARTMAN
PAINTER, ART TEACHER
Helena Hartman was born in Sweden, but she has lived in Finland for a large part of her life. She has completed a vocational degree as a free artist (3-year education) in the Free Art School, as well as a visual arts teacher degree (Art Master) from the School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki. She is currently painting full time in her studio in Helsinki.
Hartman is fascinated both by small concrete details in everyday life, and can get eager for the smallest detail where light and shadow play. However she also express deeper questions about life, and has previously been involved in climate issues. Once she has an aspiration, she works purposefully but also intuitively and expressively.
SAARA HAUKIPURO
ARTIST
HAUKIPURO is an artist based in Finland.
"I have used a lot of natural materials as bases for my paintings, such as roses, beach grass and eucalyptus, combined with base material and shellac. This creates a chaotic and three-dimensional platform for the actual color scheme. I try to create depth in my works through different color layers."
SANDRA HEILEMANN
ARTIST
Being native German, born 1975, Art and creativity has been a part of Sandra‘s life since early childhood. Later it became a part of her profession as Management Assistant in Advertising. As young adult she attended courses testing all kinds of artistic directions and fields.
Only after being relocated in Finland 2005, she was finally able to take things a step further, developing and delving into her own style, using mixed media.
Most of the time she approaches her works with a certain vision, inspired through words, feelings, situations and music.Sandras paintings come with a twist: nearly all of them are painted during nighttime or early morning hours. Heilemann constantly feels the urge to draw, this is why she always carries a sketchbook and a pencil with her to satisfy the “itching fingers” and to pickup on ideas.
MERI HELMI SÄRKKÄ
PAINTER, MULTI-DISCIPLINARY ARTIST
Meri Helmi Särkkä (Formerly known as Mariam Haji) is a Bahraini multi-disciplinary fine artist who currently lives and works in Porvoo, Finland. She works with different mediums ranging from drawing and painting to video and performance. In 2021, Mariam represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in Finland’s most prominent leading Art festival ‘Mänttä Art Festival’. She also represented her country as Mariam Haji in the 55th Venice Biennale 2013 and was the winner of Bahrain's 38th National Fine Art Competition for her “Muse” series, the youngest female artist to receive an honorary award from his Excellency the Prime Minister of Bahrain Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa in 2012.
Mariam’s work is considered a national heritage to her country Bahrain. Her piece titled “Victory” is on permanent public display inside the National Theatre of Bahrain and her work is also included in the permanent art collection of The National Museum of Bahrain.
ASTA HUUTONEN
PAINTER, ARTIST
Asta (Huutonen) Sutton, Ph.D. is Finnish / American artist who has been living and working in North America since 1998. Sutton’s research interests clarify the relationship between art and unconscious in a creative process, which is closely related to her own painting and teaching philosophy www.astagallery.com. Sutton is internationally (Finland, USA, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and UK) known artist and she has been creating artworks and syllabus that are committed on her research topic. Especially no-mindedness can be a manner to reach even better results to create and to interpret artwork and other designs. Unconscious principles can be revealed that will contribute to the creative process and enhance creativity. Her fields of interest include Asian philosophy, European and Scandinavian art, especially twentieth century period.
KASIA JAMROZIK
FIBRE ARTIST, SEAMSTRESS
Kasia Jamrozik is self-taught Polish fiber artist & seamstress, living in Helsinki since 2011. She’s an entrepreneur and teacher specialising in mending and handiwork. Through the little business she founded - Upstitch Studio - she not only mends, sews and alters garments, but also teaches art of mending. She’s always open for commissions, cooperations and teaching opportunities. Her courses cover various mending, upcycling and sewing techniques, and are currently offered in Helsinki. She plans to make her courses and techniques available globally online soon. She’s passionate about alternative fashion and sustainability, including restorations, repairs, mending, traditional outfits and old teddy bears making. She practices modern and old school mending and restoration techniques, delivering her sewing and alterations works with a refined finish. In her work she likes to use a wide variety of handiwork techniques like knitting, shuttle tatting, nålebinding and weaving, amongst others.
REENA JHA
ARTIST
JHA is a self-taught Visual Artist who specializes in creating unique, handcrafted mandala art using a combination of different materials, such as fine liners, colors, ink, and metallic colors, which adds a touch of elegance and luxury to the artwork. Her mandala art takes this concept to a new level, incorporating her own unique style and creativity into each piece. Her work of art is inspired by the people, emotions, nature and things around us.
